Truro Christmas market has returned for its fifth year, bringing Christmas joy through the harsh winter weathers.
The market had its opening night this Wednesday, kicking the festive season off with the Santa parade and hosting many musical acts throughout the night. The market is set to run till December 24th as well as late night shopping every Wednesday and an additional one on Monday 22nd.
The market, which runs yearly, hosts many different artisan businesses to showcase stalls across the streets of Truro (Lemon Quay and Boscawen Street.) There is a vast range of goods to be enjoyed, from food stalls to homemade goods. There is something for everyone to enjoy, even if that is just the display of Christmas lights festively decorating the town.
As well as the authentic Christmas market, shops across Truro also stay open later, many closing as late as 9pm. This creates excellent opportunities to those who don’t have time in the day to get their Christmas shopping done.
I spoke to Jo Onda, Owner of the business Cookie Queen, to discuss all things Christmas market and what it means to her.
“The market is a great way to share joy and support local businesses. It is a great way to meet other store owners and support each other. As well as gain traction and grow as a business. All whilst radiating Christmas spirit.”
As well, members of the public, expressed that the market kickstarted their Christmas joy.
