With Halloween just around the corner, many students are on the hunt for a place to show off their costumes, without the chaos of local sticky-floored clubs.
After it was revealed in a recent 2025 survey, that Gen Z’s drinking habits are 20% less than millennials, this shift highlights how this generation would rather prioritise their wellbeing and budgeting over one hectic night clubbing, inspired by trends like the ‘clean girl aesthetic’.
Luckily, one popular Falmouth studio is offering a unique alternative: a spooky-themed pottery night that is sure to get you in the spooky spirit.
Located on the Highstreet, Stargazer’s is a pottery painting studio that gives people of all artistic abilities the creative freedom to paint their own ceramic piece.
I recently had the opportunity to speak with one of its managers, Christine, to learn more about their upcoming Halloween events on the 30th and 31st of October.
Each night the team will host two parties; with one aimed at families from 4:15-5:45pm and another for adults, slightly closer to witching hours, from 7-9pm.
Tickets will range from £5 for children to £10 for adults and will include two complimentary ‘Spooky Cocktails’, fancy dress competitions and haunting tunes throughout.
Outside of your ticket, you have the chance to pick from a variety of customisable ceramics, ranging from bowls to skulls.
Christine shared how these will later be glazed in the in-house kiln, giving you the perfect keepsake to remember the night.
These events are also a great alternative for those who may be put off by the high entry fees, overcrowded dance floors, and excessive drinking of the local clubs.
For instance, although drinks are served, don’t worry, there’s no pressure to test the haunting concoctions.
Instead, Christine aims to create an inclusive, ‘fun environment’, with non alcoholic beverages on sale and space for all ghosts and ghouls.
If these nights sound like the perfect place to show off that costume you’ve been rustling up, tickets are selling fast.
So put on that witch’s hat and get yourself to starglazerscafe.co.uk before it’s too late!
